Accomplishments

John, you're working your a%$ off.

It's not going unnoticed.

Not by me, and not by your colleagues.

So proud of you...everyday.

PS- $2, really?

Inspired...

I'm so inspired...right here.

{This, by the way, is a 10 minute MAX walk from our house}
{LUCKY}

I love the colors.
The light tan and brown sand,
various shades of blue in the ocean and sky,
white caps where the waves break.

I love the sounds.
The birds,
the waves,
the breeze,
the people and the quiet.

I love the feelings.
Relaxed,
peaceful,
thoughtful,
playful,
happy.

I love it here.

And, so does this beach babe.

Deja Vu?

Like I said before, this will never get old.

Mac and Cheese Girl!

Before you judge, I SWEAR- she wanted to go say hello.

Another awesome weekend at Disneyland!

.

We needed it.

PS- Disneyland, if you're reading...We could be your next poster family! Call me, let's talk. ;)

On My Love List: Apple

We are officially an Apple family.

John & Audrey playing with their new iPad!

John suggested that I take a photo with all of our Apple products together.
Their own little, family photo.

That, I will not do.
Sure, we have become an Apple family, but who isn't?

Apple products are the BEST. Period.

John's work has REALLY hooked us up this year! We got the BIG laptop, and the iPad (just this weekend) for FREE!!!!

We had the rest- a small laptop (from my work), the desktop computer, two iPhones (each), and an iPod.

We love it all, and honestly are things we use every single day (totally worth the money).
I. Will. Never. Go Back.

So, Apple- if you're reading this....We ARE your poster family. Call me, and I'll get you that photo (so long as it involves some free stuff).

Too far? Maybe.

We've got a beach doggie...

I didn't expect old-Jesse to really enjoy the beach.
He's more of the sleeping {on the bed, tucked in under the covers} kinda dog.

But, I was wrong.

He REALLY loved it!

Suspicious?

You've GOT to be on to me by now...

WAY fewer {and shorter in general} blog posts lately...

I'm holding back.
There's a secret to share...

Something is UP.

A HUGE announcement coming soon?
Perhaps.

MAJOR life change on the horizon?
I think so.

You excited????
I certainly am.

Keep hanging in there, and checking in.
It'll be worth the wait. Promise.

All Me.

Today, it's all about me.

It's about courage.
Determination.
Vision.
Passion.
Faith.
Hard work.
Happiness.

It's about my family. My commitment to our future.

It's about doing all the right things, at the right times in life, for all the right reasons.

It's about...time.

It's about me today, and it feels good.

Lost

There's something wrong with me.

I burnt SPAGHETTI tonight.
That's right, spaghetti.
I didn't even know that could be done.

Pot- ruined.
Focus- lost.
Ego-bruised.
Dinner- palatable...barely.
.
.
.

My lack of thoughtful posts lately isn't because I have nothing interesting to talk about...
Actually, it's been the opposite around here.

Things are....happening.

Busy.
Stressful.
Exciting.

We're happy.
And, hungry.

But, I'm glad you keep coming back, checking in to see what's new with us, and hoping for a new picture of the most beautiful baby girl in the world.

Thank You!

I {oops, this blog} will be back to normal soon.

Random

I'm struggling to find a theme that is our weekend...

So, RANDOM it is!

Let's start at the Regatta.

Kyle (my older, younger brother from San Diego) stayed with us as his sailing team competed this weekend in the Rose Bowl Regatta at a yacht club in Long Beach.

Naturally, I wore my Sperry's.

We had a nice visit, and John and I were really happy to be there, and cheer him and his high school team on! Of course, Audrey was her usual charming/funny/curious/beautiful self.

She loved the birds, and they hated loved her too.

Next, there was a trip to Koreatown in LA to visit my awesome, free-spirited, creative, nomad friend, Erin. I've missed her, and we enjoyed the catch up session. She's up to her usual...just finished her novel, writing a few screenplays, meetings with agents, modeling/acting auditions, dating famous LA directors+... She's just fun. I hope all her dreams come true.

While in LA, I shopped for some new love, kerry fabrics...
Win!
I also sewed another love, kerry product...
Loss!

Needing WAY more practice, but not discouraged. It's only 8 days into the new year.
.
.
.

John and I enjoyed lunch yesterday in Belmont Shore (neighborhood in Long Beach). And, I've decided that rap artists have given Long Beach a bad rep. Obviously, it's a HUGE city, so there's going to be good and bad...And, I'm in no position to argue with (the late) Tupac over what is and isn't a Los Angeles ghetto.

I'll take your word for it.

But, I've really LOVED what I've seen so far...Belmont Shore was ADORABLE!!! Definitely wanting to go back and spend more time exploring.
.
.
.

And, is it really a weekend without Disneyland? We just spent an hour-or-two tonight, no rush, easy dinner, very casual and fun.

This will NEVER get old...

Merry Serbian Christmas!!!
And, happy 16-Month birthday, AUDREY!!!! You're so easy to love.

On My Love List: The 5-Year Journal

 New Year, New Journal.

It was such funny timing, actually. A few weeks ago, I found this journalling concept here on Pinterest. I immediately knew it was PERFECT for me in the new year. I even found the PERFECT dish to keep my journal notecards in here at Anthropologie. I could have easily copied the idea, and made it my own with a few personal touches. But, let's be honest- it would have been yet ANOTHER project for me to take on, and my free time has been pretty maxed out lately. I kept putting it off, and January 1st just kept creeping up on me.

But, I LOVED the idea.

Last week, John and I visited Old Towne Orange. It's a quaint, college town (home of Chapman University & very close to the UCI Medical Center) where antique and specialty gift shops, fun bars and cute restaurants line the streets around the "Orange Circle". We enjoyed appetizers, the sunshine, and our casual stroll with Audrey. And, we popped into just ONE shop.

It was calling my name from down the street- Hostess with the Mostess- a shop especially for those who love planning parties.

While inside- TWO crazy things happened.

1. John actually ran into people he knew! What?!?!?! We know people here? Just kidding. ;)
But really, John stopped and talked with a married couple, both 3rd year radiology residents.

2. And, I managed to spot this:

Mom's One Line A Day
A Five-Year Memory Book

It's so simple. So smart.

Here you have one page for every day in the year. Each page is divided into 5 years, and gives you just enough space to write about two sentences about your day.

A condensed, comparative record for five years, for recording events most worthy of remembrance.

Also, a time saver. Add two sentences a day to my hectic schedule? Doable.
If only I was as committed to running as I am to writing...

This will be fun for me. I will enjoy {quickly} reflecting on the day each evening, and I can only imagine how fun it will be to read year-after-year.

This makes me happy.

Off to a great start!!!

I'd say kicking off the new year at the happiest place on earth is a good move.

It was pretty obvious that King Arthur's Carousel in Fantasyland was Audrey's favorite ride today....

So, we went twice...

But, Mickey's Toontown was a hit too!

We even ventured into the California Adventure Park and rode the huge ferris wheel.

We enjoyed all the princess attractions.

Princess Audrey on her throne.

And, there were a few scary moments too.
Mostly in the dark rides.

But, she didn't cry once, and knew the day was special.

The weather was beautiful, and most of the lines were short.

We had a BLAST, and are so lucky and grateful to be annual members so that we can enjoy the fun {and magic} whenever we want!!!

Thanks again Mom and Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the memories begin.

I think we're off to a great start this year.
